OK, so we all know there are non feeding Royals out there, and as a result, some seriously skinny ones. Has anyone any photos of skinny royals (mainly underside)?
Reason I ask is I have brought home a Royal to get feeding for a local shop (I have more time than they do so don't mind) and it's probably the skinniest snake I have seen in a long while, wish I had some decent scales, feels like it weighs less than a hatchling and is an 08 (I have seen worse but that one died when I went to pick it up)
I'll let it have another two feeds with me before I post pics, as it is in my dark room at the moment with nothing but a nice faunarium and lots of hides (has eaten once for me so must be doing some good).
Think I might start doing this more often, I love seeing non feeders eat well......and it's a change from the dustbin of a royal I own (he would eat anything offered given the chance)

TBH I think this one is just a case of it doesn't like the shop enviroment, it seems VERY happy in its new temp home.
When I first got it home it drank for England, and I mean REALLY drank (the amount I would expect my CCP at 4ft to drink in a week) in about 4 hrs. Since then it has had a healthy appetite for water, and seems quite relaxed. If it hadn't eaten on the first shot I might have used critical care, but I think it just wasn't being allowed to do what IT wanted..... |

hi and welcome roeder...
Glad she is feeding for you now. Hope your keeping an eye on her while she is in with the live prey dont want her to get hurt. Also will you be swapping her back to F/T when she is back feeding again...?
