Well Indy has not been out of his hide all week. At first i thought this was because he was digesting his weener i gave him last week. A little worried i picked up his hide and looked at him and immediatley thought ooooo he is going into shed! I havent been there to witness the blue eyes, but he does usually come out at night times every night but has not this week.
This will be my first shed if im right.
Take a look at the dodgy pics for me and try to see if you can see what i mean?
This is the pic with no flash and shows the colour better:
This is with flash
This is his rub. He only ever sits in the top hide. Ive upped the humidity to 68%

Have a look at his under side. See if it has a slight pink to it. |

They probably don't want to be out and a bout and being handled as their eye-sight is even worse than normal. |

just lifted his hide. His skin is grey, his neck is wrinkly as hell and his eyes are white! I guess that answers my question! Shed on its way. From this point of white eyes, how long have i got for it to shed? Ive added some sphagmoss to the outside of his hide to aid in humidity. Up in 60-70% at the moment.
Woo! lets hope a nice hefty turd follows! |

He will shed about 3 days after his eyes clear. |

As above, his eyes will clear and he will almost go back to normal and will then shed a few days later (up to a week sometimes). |

Yawn, why does everything have to take so long! 7 weeks for a turd, 1 week for a shed, 5 years till fully grown etc etc.. :D

Well Indy has shed! Mainly all in one piece with the eye caps. Ive kept humidity up at around high 60's low 70's and I think this helped. However on closer inspection, from the vent down, he has some shed stuck. So Ive put some moss in his hide overnight in hope that this will aid in soaking the remainder shed off. If not I will get him damp and use a towel later tonight. No Plop in or with his shed which is a shame, but im already thinking of the great fun I can have with the snake shed. I.E leaving the shed in the toilets at work, or putting it in the neighbours garage etc....the fun I can have. |

I remember when I used to get excited about my snake shedding, I actually miss that now, its just another thing I have to clean out of the tank.....
Saying that, I still have the first sheds of pretty much all my snakes hanging from my shelves.
congrats though |
