hi folks finally finished my rough design for the new viv for my new arrivals. i am going to put it on top of my corn viv so they tie in together, that part was pritty straight forward. now for the fun part designing the inside. when i made my viv for the corn i made a water pool about the size of a dinner bowl (20cm diamiter) it now holds moss as i emptyed it cuz they never went in it once! how ungratefull i thought, i would love a pool in my house so i wondered if royals would be the same? i have noticed a few comments about humidity being important, where its not as important with the corns, so good idea or not?

i have a few ideas for other cool items to put in (youtube make your own reptile water fall) looked really smart but maybe save that for a later date. so apart from the usual stuff, hides in hot/cool end does anyone have any cool stuff going on in there snake palaces lol. would love to hear your suggestion and pic would be cool to! enjoy

I think there will be some one on to talk you out of the waterfall due to cleaning and bacteria issues.
Good going building your own vivs. Makes it more satisfying.

really good point mate cheers, never thought about it, just thought they looked cool :) i know im a bit sad like that i love making stuff especially for my animals lol i dont know if the snakes notice a difference but the intentions there, and if nothing else i try and give them options. even when i change the set up around or put something new in jock and anges will guaranteed be out that night exploring, vertiey is the spice of life and all that!! im super excited to learn more and see the differences between the corns and royal. i know this is a royal forum and really please with my new yellow bellys, i mean really really please lol but honestly can say a bad word about my corn, really cracking snakes and open up this whole new hobby to me. cheers again

Hi There I have just made this for my little nephew

I really would not put any waterfalls in your viv they are to difficult to keep clean, just a breeding ground for bacteria.
Just stick with a water dish, I use a ceramic dog bowl
Hope you like the pics.
Have fun :)

Branches and fake foliage are great for Royals, they are shy so the more stuff they can move around believing they are unseen the better. Also heavy stuff, they are strong and clumsy, if they can tip it over they will. I use £3 ceramic baking tray pot type thing. They weigh a ton and are large and flat so practically untippable.

These are my vivariums, I try to keep them interesting for me and the snakes but relatively simple to take apart for cleaning and snake extraction, Dunelm Mill is brilliant for fake foliage and trees are great for real branches, lol.
