I posted this over at BP.net but I only got one reply. Though I don't doubt the person's opinion, I would really like to have more than one person chime in. Does anyone here have any experience with the markers for a het Pied? I picked up this girl a few months back in trade for a couple of my Corns. The guy said she was het for Albino and maybe het for Pied. If maybe a few people here who are knowledgeable on the het Pied markers could put their two cents in on this one, I would be greatly appreciated. I know the only true way to prove her out is through breeding, but I don't want to put the time into trying for Pieds later on if she doesn't really show any promising markers. Thanks in advance for anyone who puts their input in.
This is a top view of her:
And here are a couple of her side to show how white the lower part of her "Alien" heads are:
She also has the coolest eyes, they are dark black on bottom and a smoky, speckled gray on top.

she has one some people call het pied markers, the train track markers down the lower end of her tail. the only problem is this isnt a sure fine way to define a het pied unfortunatly. my female is an 100% het pied with certifiactes to prove this, and she has some train tracks, but not the best ones. my male on the other hand has some very nice train track markers, and was sold as an 100% het, but doesnt have any paper work for it. it helps my mind that he has the markers, but its not definate that he is 100% het pied until i breed him and produce a pied. the only way unfortunatly to prove him/her out is to breed them i will see tonight if i can get some pictures of my pairs markers for you |

Thanks Danny, I appreciate your input. :) I know that the only way to be 100% sure is to do some breeding trials, but I didn't want to attempt to find a het Pied male unless others could say "Well, those are similar to the markers most people talk about". It would be my luck that I would think they looked like markers and then I get a male het Pied and find out those weren't like the markers at all, lol! But with two people now having said that they at least resemble the markers, I feel a little more confident in maybe checking out getting a het Pied male. I'd love to see pics of your pair's markers if you get them. Thank you so much for your help! |

While I very greatly appreciate the thought, unfortunately I am located in the States. :( That is very kind of you, though, thank you so much. :) |
