Hi,
I've been checking the viv for poo lately as Noodle has had five or six feeds now and I haven't seen (or smelled!) any sign.
I have found a couple of white chalky deposits and I'm not sure what they are. I've had a look on google and they could be snake wee but I thought they produce liquid wee.
Is this normal stuff to expect?
Thanks! |

It seems like Urates, they are usually solid white balls, I wouldn't be able to think of anything else it could be lol |

Would you expect to see poo as well? I've had a look around and I can't spot any and he's had several feeds. I'm going to be changing the substrate this weekend so I can have a really good look... |

The urates are normal for reptiles. You'll know when the snakes has pood! It may take quite a few feeds before it goes so don't worry. I hope for your sake the snake isn't on your lap when it goes!! |

Nothing to be too worried about yet, Eyeball. Royals can for a long periods of time without having a bowel movement. If you are concerned your Royal is becoming constipated, you could try giving it a soak in a lukewarm bath (keep the water on the cool side, but not cold. It should feel comfortable on your skin, not cold or hot) and see if that helps. More than likely, though, your Royal is just fine and will defecate when it is ready. btw, I use a plastic RUB that is big enough to do the bath in. Makes dumping the whole mess in the toilet very convenient and easily cleaned up. ;) |
