Hi Guys,

Looking for some advice.

I want to add some branches to my Vivariums but I hate the thought of paying the pet shop prices!

Is there any local trees that can be used and cured before being put into the Viv? I know that some wood can be toxic.... I will be putting them into my royals Viv and my Boas Viv if possible.

Thanks

Pine is toxic to reptiles so I would stay clear of anything that looks like it could be from a pine tree don't know if any other woods are toxic tho

Some of the wood on surrey pet supplies is well priced. When i last needed some,Only downside being it all rots fast in natural setups.Would be fine for snake vivs etc.

Also you don't no what shape/angles the wood is when buying. So you end up with branches that don't fit well or look crappy :)

anyway,Don't use any pine and best stay clear of most evergreen/junipers coniferous trees :) yew trees,Privet more of a bush but can have thick branches, alder Buckthorn, afew more but depends where you'll be getting your wood :)

Alder, ash, beech, birch, hornbeam,Hazel you should find them in any woods :)
