I don't think Sanke has ever refused a meal. She is just over 5 foot and eats a weaner rat once a fortnight. She is a dwarf though so is quite a slender Boa. |

I did have him in a 4x2x2 with a ceramic. I was told to put him into a rub as that was what he was in at the shop.
Bob I think I'm going to offer once a fortnight now instead of weekly |

i dont think this would affect his feeding but i struggle to get his humidity up at times. he sheds absolutely fine so i havent worried about it too much. can get as low as 20 at times so i give it a spray. does humidity have an impact on feeding? |

My humidity I don't do anything with. Only when he goes grey I shall spray him a few times. |

when i first got my boa she only drop fed, took a while to get her to strike. it comes in quite handy if I'm in a rush as i can just leave the rat in there and she will come over and eat when she is ready. have noticed she is quite a shy feeder and when i drop feed i cover up half the viv. she does however take an absolute age she will coil her rat for around 30 mins before starting to swallow. |

I've tested both means of feeding with my boa and he's superb with both so if I'm lazy I drop feed if not hell strike :-) |

Well after being out all day I came back to the worst stench in every room of the house. Boris has done the biggest poo! It was almost wider than him! Hopefully this might mean he will eat his next meal! Not going to try for another week though |

here is a picture of him. Does he look underweight at all? I can't find a good example of what a 4.5ft boa should weigh! |

Decided to take him to a vet this afternoon for a check up.he said everything was fine but the only thing he was worried about was a gurgling squelchy sound half way down (which I asked about on another thread) and next time he poos I have to take in a sample as he thinks it's something internal |

he look's a nice healthy shape/size from the pic, only time ive weighed a boa is william just out of interest really
i go by the body shape if they have a square ish shape to them like your's that's a healthy shape, it's when they look round that their a bit chubby.
keep us updated on the stool sampele. are you going to try a different food with the next feeding?

Might be worth starving him for couple days longer? Wouldn't hurt him. I've done that once or twice. |

Well last night was the night (couldnt wait till Sunday so just fed 1 day later than normal) And.... Refused :( I was really hopefull this time as I've left the lid off his rub that's in his viv the last few days and he's been moving around and climbing on the branch I have in there! I think he prefers it tbh! I think I'm going to take away the rub tonight and turn the ceramic back on then leave him for 2 weeks and try again |

Yeah take the run away and just give it a couple weeks. Don't stress about refusing a feed. |
