My royal has always strike fed but the last 3 times he has only drop fed over night. Is it normal for them to just change like that or could it be early signs of an up coming fast? Not too worried as at least he's eating but he's always been my most aggressive feeder and I would look forward to watching him strike and eat! Nothing has changed in his enclosure temps, location, handling frequency etc etc
You soon get used to the fact that they do as they please. Mine decide on the day how they will feed apart from Duke who never strikes, always a shy feeder. Whatever gets them to eat is the best way to feed them.
My boa once wouldn't strike or drop feed but as I lowered the rat into his viv. He put his nose up to it. Opened his mouth slowly and started to slowly take it down. Was very odd for him to want to eat it so gently
