you could try putting a large surface area water bowl in warm end, damp towel or add a moss box for him to lie in. We missed one of our going in to shed, so its bath time and wet towel walkies. |

One of my favourites is putting a wet flannel over the hide in the warm end. Gives a good humidity boost for a while and gives them something solid and damp to rub against. |

Thanks for the reply,I put him in a damp pillow case then sprayed the viv with look warm water and that seemed to help with the shed but I hope it didn't stress him to much because he don't need any excuse to stop eating, also my hygrometer reads 40 to 50%most of the time which I thought was ok for royals but I will go and get some moss just another question do yo keep the moss in the viv at all times or just during shedding? |

Usually the moss box just when they are shedding. Although for our rainbow I leave one in all the time as they prefer higher humidity or at lease somewhere moist to go when they need. |

I use a wet flannel on top of the warm hide. Had to use the old 'slither through the wet t towel' trick on Sas though. Hehas trouble getting the skin off his back since he's been on kitchen roll. |

Just to add another question, see when the orchid bark drys out would you mist it again or only raise the humidity at shedding as I don't want to keep the viv floor really wet all the time?again thanks for any help :) |

Your probably having this trouble because its winter time and you`ve got your central heating on, this will effect the humidity of the air in the house. You`ll get a better result if you remove the orchid bark and use paper, (use wall lining paper, from B&Q) then either a wet sponge or a wet flannel in the warm end. Misting on orchid bark with have no real effect. |
