With the new baby on the way I'm going to lose my rep room :( I'm planning on moving them into the kitchen in a kind of dining room area and I just wondered how this might affect the snakes going from a quiet room to a high traffic area with lights going on and off etc. Anybody keep there's in kitchen? |

Any change can affect a Royal, some will cope ok with it, with others it could be the start of a long fast, or somewhere inbetween.

When i first got my male i kept him upstairs in my bedroom but after a while i moved him to the front room and he changed pretty quickly... Started striking at the glass, going for anything that came into his viv. Nothing changed with his temps or anything like that the only thing that was different was the room, my front room was quite busy a lot of the time. Im not saying thats what it is just giving you my experience. |

did you move him back upstairs or did he calm down? or still striking at you lol? the bedroom isnt really big enough to be used as a bedroom anyway so im not fully decided what ill do yet. although if the boys share a bedroom and snake room stays ill be accused of favouring snakes over my children lol |

When we moved house we i put my lot from our bedroom into our livingroom did not seem to bother them in the slightest appart from my male pastel he did not eat for about 8 weeks (but he has allways been a fussy feeder) my other 4 were completely fine eat the second night into the new house :) so id say they should probs be ok as at the times when the kitchen is most busy during the day most royals will be in there hides with them being nocturnal so in theory should not notice but the thing id be wary of with he kitchen is the vibrations from washing machines tumble dryers etc they will pick up that and that way stress them out but if they are far enough away from your appliances you should be fine
Having said that theres only 1 way to find out if they will be ok as they are all completely differant :) |

Ours are in the living room and when son is home he plays on his Playstation at very high volume! Snakes don't seem to mind! |

It can affect them,if you keep moving them around.Or move him from a quiet area to a loud area etc etc.He should be fine where you put him :) |
