Hi just a very happy owner as only had Ry for one week from RSPCA and he has shed successfully last night and just eaten a weaner without any problems! I hadn't realised he would strike quite as fiercely - was I meant to be dangling the weaner from the tongs or should I have laid it down ?
I'm going to leave him well alone so he's not stressed as don't want it regurgitated but very happy that he seems settled in his new home.
Also I know this seems a silly questoon but how do I know when to increase the size of his rats - and what's next up from a weaner ?
Thanks !

chrisc

cool good to hear he's settling in well.
either way of offering the rat is fine some wont strike feed so need the rat left for them but as he stuck fed all good.
yea leave him be for 48hrs minimum while he digest's
when the rat doesnt leave a noticable lump after it's been eaten then it's time to up the size, next size up will be a large weiner or a small rat

A good fast strike always feels more satisfying than when they drop feed.
