Having amateur hour here at the moment with a hatchling that is insisting on having terrible sheds, given him multiple baths and spray down his rub every night but just can't get it started! |

Do you have a lid on his rub? If not put one on, that will help keep the moisture in there. |

How about a small piece of light grade sand paper for him to rub on to get it started, never tried it myself but it might work. |

if he cant get the shed started then some loose substrate like aspen should help as he would be able to rub/push his nose into it to help get it started, some bit's of wood/cork bark may also help

We have two little boas who insist on having really crap sheds every time no matter how humid we keep them without going crazy. It takes days slowly trying to get it off. They are usually patient enough when soaking and gently rubbing at it but it seems like it's glued on at times. As for helping themselves, they just don't bother. |
