as long as his eye caps came off when he shed and he is not losing weight, he should be ok.
are you monitoring his weight? ..
he will feed soon..
how often are you trying him?
the rat/mouse needs to very very warm and you could try splitting its head ( braining ) it... |

how old is your royal? is he a baby?
if not was he feeding ok before you got him?
is your set up still the same as it was when you got the heat mat and then the ceramic?
did you add any more hides or anything?

ok, i got this photo from your first post..and a going to suggest some changes in there that might help...
personally i would move him out of there into a rub, but with some changes this might work..
his home looks very empty..and it is white..so to him it is probably big and scary.
if you have not already done so..
you can add two more hides in there, make sure they are dark ones. take the log out or cut it in half...to allow for the hides, that thing in the right hand corner, what is it? you can move that and put a small hide there...
cover the hides with artificial plants, and make it look crowded, then leave him alone for a while and try again..

completely agree with WS, it's more of a clinical environment rather than a cosy home for a royal. if they're stressed about their 'home' the first thing you'll tend to notice is not feeding. |

my hide does look better now, but i have now put an extra hide in, so there r 3 hides now and some plants. i think he's about 9 months old although the pet shop were a little vague with that. they said he woz strike feeding when i had him, but i seriously doubt that now. still have a ceramic heat bulb, he does'nt appear 2 b losing any weight, have been monitoring it for about 5 weeks and he is still about 4-5 ounces. live in birmingham |

if it looks crowded he will like it;-)
keep a check on his weight and just sit it out if he is ok...
easier said than done i know...

dont paint them...
you can get plenty of cheap greenery from Dunelms rather than pay rep shop prices..
how is your snake doing? how much weight has it lost?
