Just my opinion but wooden viv, stat'd IR/ceramic WITH GUARD, orchid bark, 2 hides, water bowl, wood & plastic plants. Just my opinion though it works for me.

A partition should work well and then you can move it along as the snake grows, meaning it won't need another viv.

you could try partitioning it off (maybe with wood + aquarium sealant- dont use sticky tape lols) you can also try- if you havn't done it already- covering 3 sides with thick cardboard to enclose it off more.
do you have a moss hide in there at all?
dont forget you can use pretty much ANYTHING as a hide, ice cream tubs, margerine tubs, cardboard boxes etc.
and if you dont have any moss, damp kitchen paper works just as well :)

personally i would lose the mat and just use the bulb (assuming the snake cant get near it)

right, i shortend the tank useing my exo terra foam background, snakey was still trying to climb the glass or walls. does seem like a much better size now but could the glass still be a problom? i do have a moss hide, is now on the cool side, water dish on the cool side, standard hide on the warm side and a large fake plant across the back floor which it is hiding under now. even with the infrared bulb its still hiding now, in the dark with red bulb.il have to see how it goes. thanks everyone. neil

As above. lose the mats. ( and if you buy stats for them you can decide between one other the other.)
but as you have said the shop have done you. I think you or at least the second new member this months who has been sold the wrong equipment for keeping royals. Something should be done.

Any one any ideas is there nothing that the rspca could do or some regulating body to keep check on stores that are known to be passing costumers of with the wrong info and equipment????

right-o.
this is what he WAS in at the WORST point of me owning him:
3ft glas tank, 3 levels, heatmat without stat, not enough hides etc etc i think we can all see why this set up was jus tpure evil, even though i didnt know it at the time lol:

and this is now:

please dont assume this is a perfect set up, i highly doubt it is, and if anyone has any issues with it, or thinks there is something i could/should improve on, please let me know :D (but be nice.... lee.... lol)

If you're after something down south I know a good breeder in Hampshire.

'09 Normals will be £55.
