Ok, I have tried to put a guide together to help others to understand the genetics, let me know if it doesn't make sense:
Hope that makes sense? |

nice tutorial there BE i'm not up on Royal morphs but the same theory applies to corns, it's just knowing which combinations make which morphs! |

Nice one B.E. That made more sense than most of the lecturers on the first year of my course.
....and it didn't make me fall asleep unlike most of the lectures, hence the choice of forensic entomology for my research project. |

Nicely explained there BE. Good job. I love genetics but am more au fait with human medical genetics than snake morphs, which can baffle me at times, although the primciples are the essentially the same. I have never heard of a super/pastel bumblebee!! It's amazing how much we now understand compared to just over 50 years ago when DNA was discovered. |

So if I buy a mate for Sherman that is a morph of some kind then there will be a 25% chance of getting offspring of that morph and the other 75% will be normal. Is that right BE? |

all depends on wot morph you buy. if its dominent, co-dominent or recessive...
dominent and co-dominent will give you 1st generation off spring, where as recessive wont.

As Daz states, they would all be normal het Albino, see above, with recessive genes you need a pair of genes (Sherman won't be able to provide one) to be visual Albino. |

I didn't even ask if he was het or not. Just met him at the pet shop and said yep, I'll take him. I'll chase them up for the info when I go up there next. |
