Hi all thanks for the advice yesterday on mites in the water bowl.
Today there was 1 more that looked bug like, when i squashed it on paper it turned into a black smudge, not red as I would imagine blood to be. There were also loads of brown/black bits in the bottom of his water bowl, but not sure if these could be bits of his orchid bark from where he has been drinking, cant get him out till tomorrow due to him feeding on Monday.

Am going to clean his whole viv out tomorrow & soak him in water before spraying him & viv with mite off, then will use kitchen towels as substrate for a while.

Question is what you reckon mites or not?

Cheers
Glyn

Not by looking at him through the viv glass, tomorrow I will get him out and turn him over to check his belly & have a good close look.

Might be a stupid question but has anyone got a pic of what a mite looks like? I have tried the web with little help.

suppose the bug thing in the water dish was like a small thunder bug thing that cover you in summer if you wear yellow.

Great stuff thanks BlackEcho, that looks like what was in the water bowl, especially the one in the pic on a finger nail.

Right really gonna give the suckers hell in the morning, as said soaking snake in water before spraying with mite off. Then going to empty viv, steam clean it, then f10 it, then finally spray with mite off, use kitcken roll in viv & bake all furniture in the oven for an hour.

Agreed.

There's a Frontline sticky in the health section if you decide to go that way.
