The guard is too small for a ceramic, you need about 20x12.
You can get mini ceramics but they will be to small for the viv size.

Why do you prefer Pulse?

Better in what way?

Dimmers can be used with both Ceramics and Bulbs and are more accurate, however they are more expensive.

PPs can be used with Heat Mats so that is one benefit.

for me i have found it easier to maintain an even heat with a pulse, but that might be because the vivs downstairs have larger vents not sure.

i just like them better is all...

But i also like pulses cos they can be used on mats as well..

i have mainly pulses and heat my reps with a mixture of mats, a ceramic (yes i was shocked too!!) and reptile radiator, the pulse stats can be used for all the above.

i've had no problems with accuracy or maintaining temps with a pulse with any type of heat source {:)]
