I have just put in my first moss hide to help Memphis shed. I was wondering if you need to keep wetting the moss or if it is ok to leave it. Do you put it on the hot or cold side? He has not shown any interest in it so far so was just wondering if I was doing something wrong.

Cold side is recommended - stops the build up in bacteria.
You shouldnt need to keep wetting, but keep an eye on it just in case!!
Not all my snakes like the damp hide - some like to lie in their water dishes and others stay in their hides until its all over.

BUT the fact the moss hide is in the viv will help with the humidity.

Thanks Kashie. I have put it on the cold side and it is reasonably wet. I am presuming it should not be soaking wet? I am hoping that he has a better shed this time as the first one resulted in a couple of bits of skin being left behind.

Wet the moss then squeeze out the water with your hand, this should leave it damp but not wet. You will probably have to dampen it in a few days time again.
