I've cut some branches off an old dead tree in my father in laws garden
I;ve read on here how some people have prepared them
what are the dangers of just outting the brach in there without preparing it?

mainly nasty little bugs which may be in the wood and any toxins that would have soaked in to the wood. They really aren't that hard to prepare I have done it in all my viv. refuse to pay crazy prices for something you can get yourself. great posts in DIY section on how to prepare. just make sure its not from pine or cedar family as they are particularly toxic to all animals
