Been round to see ben and sorted him the viv out,i dont think his royal is nasty just had a stressful time and a bit on edge, might need to change the mat to a smaller one and the cool end hide a bit smaller so he could fit a slightly bigger water bowl but i have both for him and will get it all sorted over the next few days, nice to meet you today ben, stick with it and im pretty sure he will settle. |

Yes it was good to meet you too Lee, you were very helpful & there was no way I was gonna get him out to swap the vivs in the mood he's in, so thanks for that too! I took on board everything you said and think it make sense. I'm sure he'll settle soon enough! Been checking the temperatures and definately higher now 27 - 30.4C / 80.4 - 87F. It did go down to 24C but think thats cuz he was lying on the sensor and that bought it down. He enjoys lying on top of the hot spot hide & doesn't feel the need to go inside it yet!
Names please people, now thinking of calling him Chester (Man"chester" Utd)? Any Utd haters please give alternative or I think I will settle to that!
Lee i'll email you in few days and see how temps going etc. and perhaps sort out the other hide you mentioned. Thanks man. I'm a lot happier now and in few days hopefully so will he! |

Heating stays pretty constantly on 29C now is this sufficient? I read and heard can be upto 32.5C but he seems quite content, definately more relaxed now! |

Up a couple more degrees would be ideal. |

Well without disturbing him I think the thermostat sensor is directly on the mat and cuts out on the "so called" 33C mark. The thermometer sensor is in same sort of place but think maybe bit of substrate between the two. If he'll be ok for dday or two at 29C then when he's calmer i'll either move the stat sensor away from the heat slightly or make sure the thermometer sensor is on the hottest part with no substrate intefering? |

Just turn the thermostat up a bit until the thermometer reads the correct temp. |

Yer the stat is all the way up now (35C) which makes me think the sensor on thermometer isn't quite in contact with mat cuz the stats gauge can't be that far out? |

I did cover the mat with a piece of lyno with no substrate on that, try and get the probes under the log hide as theres no substrate under there just the lyno and you should get a better reading,do it nice and slowly and he should be ok. |

Not today! He's in the hide head and neck poking out in s position. Infact thats what he's been doing all day! His head isn't pointing in the air, its along th floor just looks like he'd be ready to pounce if someone went in there! |

chuck on some gardening gloves :) I had some gardening gloves for my nasty girl, i stuck them in my pillow for about a week, and wore them whenever i went in her rub, then i left one in her rub with her...with the hope that she would get used to my scent....she hasn't struck since... (well, she has, but to be fair i dropped an ice cream tub hide on her, so i'll let her take that as a win) |
