Does anyone else, regardless of whether or not they like Rage Against the Machine, think it's great that the someone has finally stuck two fingers up at the X Factor? |

Me! Wasn't there a similar campaign a few years back with Gary Jule's Mad World beating Pop idol finalists Happy Xmas (war is over)? |

I don't care enough either way to be honest.
Simon Cowell still sold 450,000 records so he got his money. |

Aye, I know he's still had his pound of flesh. It does cheer me up though that for once he's not been able to use his karaoke competition to guarantee a number one for another bland, disposable and utterly forgettable flash in the pan. |

Aye, its nothing to do with who gets what money, its about proving that a christmas number one doesnt have to be some crap pop backing track with a 17 year old nobody singing along. Why shouldnt a REAL band who write their own songs and play their own instruments have it? Im glad it happened, its going to happen evey year now, the internet's seen to that and every year on christmas day theres gonna be some decent rockin tune at number one, where it should be!

Agreed, but when was the last time one of those was at number one? I can understand the BBC's reticence to play Killing in the Name as they never released an edited version, but they got around it in the states by editing it themselves and blanking out all the 'F' words. It's not rocket science. |
