Royals even as hatchlings can take a small mouse or Rat Pup, it sounds like yours should be easily able to go up a size or 2. How much does she weigh?

If you can get it to go onto rats then now is the best time to start. Rat pups followed by rat fuzzys (I have seen 4 month old royals manage rat fuzzys no problems in the past)

At 200g you could even try a small rat weaner, are you sure she's only 4 months?

at 200g you'd be wanted to feed a 20g-30g meal so you should be going for a large mouse or as BE said she could take a small weaner rat. ( but make sure you weigh it as small weaners can weigh over 40g)

I might try and get some feeding shots done soon to show people just how big a meal a royal CAN take. I think people worry that royals have small heads and won't be able to take the meals, but in reality they can take ruddy large prey.

Does anyone else think this would help? (ie does anyone else have pics showing large meals being taken to ease others' minds)

sounds like a good idea karl. sorry can't help ith pics though. the only one i would have a chance of getting would be my pastel but wouldn't help much as he is a big boy now and has a broader head than a normal royal would have.
