HI EVERY1 IM A NEW MEMBER AND I NEED SUM HELP I GOT MY ROYAL PYTHON AND THE PLACE I GOT IT FROM SAID I SHOULD USE SOIL AS A SUBSTRATE BUT IVE NOTICED THAT MOST MEMBERS USE OTHER METHODS WICH 1 IS BEST |

hi and welcome! i have both mine on kitchen roll at the min (they're both in rubs) but when they move to vivs i will prob be using aspen. what are you keeping him in and how old? |

Don't use soil, but Aspen/Aubiose in a viv or newspaper/kitchen towel in a tub. Others use Orchid bark and Beech chips too. |

i keep him in a viv and im not sure how old he is ive had him for 2 month now and wen i bought him i never asked its age |

I keep all mine on paper, doesnt matter if they are in a viv or rub its the easiest, cheapest and cleanest way to go. |

Not necessarily, would give us an idea of how old/large he is and would give you knowledge of what size food was appropriate and whether he was putting weight on or not. I tend to weigh mine once a month or so. |

Digital scales, you can get them off ebay, for <£10. |
