This gives you all your info
http://www.theroyalpython.co.uk/royal_python_care_sheet.htm

I presume your using a r.u,b with a mat outside but either way your Royal needs an ambient air temperature of 27-29C (80-85F) throughout with a hot spot of 32.5C (90F) during the day. At night, the ambient air temperature can drop down a few degrees but no lower than 75F with a basking area of 85-90F.

I keep all my temps running constant day and night and naturally the enclose will drop a few degrees at night.

1.0 Enchi butter

basically, set the floor temps to 32 degrees, and then see what the air temps are, they are not as bad, its the floor temps you want to be 32 degrees, mine range from 30-34 with 32.5 the temp that the mat stat turns off

Air temp is just as important as ground floor temp especially in a rub.

For ground floor temp place rub directly on the mat and then place temp probe inside the rub above the mat to get your hot spot temp.
Set your thermostat accordingly.

Air temp in a rub will only be a few degrees above the ambient room temp which is the reason snake rooms with rack are heated to provide the ambient temp. Average room temp is only 68-70F which is too cold for a ball python. place temp probe anywhere on cold side of the rub and temp should read 80F during the day allowing for a few degrees drop at night.

I wouldn't go above 31-32c max just try to keep it quite constant as it would be in the wild.

that is a bit too cold for a royal to be at for a couple of days, yes, like bob sed, a few hours maybe but for a few days it would not be good for them.
can u not get ur pet shop to hold them for you until the stat comes??

yep get your set up sorted before you buy your snakes. Where do you live, you can buy a fuse anywhere.
