the striking may well be defensive as they do not feel secure in the shop, so it is possible that providing a secure environment for them and handling that may be enough to calm them down.

Hi botting i change the set up when the royals length = the length and depth of the enclosure.
I use rubs in a rack and go from 5l for hatchlings then to 9l, 18l, and finish at 33l or 50l for adults.

Hi, poor little guy, I want him myself!

The bottom line is, though, if you feel confident enough with him, he will probably settle down, but unless you are confident, it won't do him any favours to take him on. Know how you feel - as I've said, I'd want him too, but it really is all down to confidence on your part, and also there may be stress/feeding issues with him that may take time and patience to overcome. And there are hatchling snakes that are just damn feisty little devils!

All the best.

Wow, is that £125???

I paid £60 for Shahi, who was a cf hatchling, in a shop in July, £150 for Saada, also cf, 09, but with her own viv and a lot of equipment, and £135 for Surahi, 06 cb dinker 1300+gm.

But if that's what the prices are like in your area, and it certainly sounds like you can handle the little guy, I'd be tempted to go for it if you can afford that. Sounds like he needs a peaceful home ... and it may just have been his feeding day ...all the best.

I did wonder later - is the snake a morph, for that price? It IS dear, for a normal, but some shops are expensive and if you don't have much choice in that area, or transport, then you're forced to pay the higher price. Even if you do have transport, the cost of petrol will add to the price of the snake if you have to travel long distance and a dearer snake locally may be better value in the end.

I can certainly recommend Preloved, I answered 2 ads, and got my two girls very locally, at prices I was pleased with, as I am with the snakes, but West Yorks, even though I don't drive, is an easy area in which to obtain royals.

Good luck with your search for your royal.

It is a bit steep yes, but you have to remember this is from a shop and not a breeder. Shops do price not only royals but all snakes rather higher.

The other thing is a snake is worth what you are wiling to pay for it.

Very true.

He may be a very dear snake, but if he's going to be YOUR very dear snake, lol, he's worth every penny.
