Well I was advised to move my probe for my thermometer because it was held down with selotape, so I did today, and the temp on it has dropped from 29-22. I turned the thermostat up and it's still only on 25.4. But when it was at the front, it stuck on 29.5-30.5. Any ideas about what to do? I don't know if to turn it up so it says 28+ or leave it as it is because it said it was hot enough before. I have put my hand inside and it certainly feels hot enough for him to me. But need some expert help please? |

I thought that to begin with, but not sure why moving it a couple of inches backwards would effect it. Well it's probably like 1inch in fact. Not been moved left or right, just backwards a little. |

Is it directly under your heat source, thats where the heat is most intense and it gets hotter the closer to the heat source too. So moving it even an inch out of the direct heat will see a vast drop in temperature. You will see the brightest spot on the substrate if its a bulb. |

As above. also if I remember the pic correctly it was taped to the hide which is going to store the heat and give an increased reading. Place probe at or just above substrate level next to hot hide. Then take a hot spot temp and an ambient temp. Should be looking at roughly 90F hot spot and 80F ambient. |

Yeah, I have moved it to basically just off the hide now on top of the substrate. He seems happy enough, but wanted to make sure. |
