When is the optimum time to put a damp hide in to aid with shedding?

Flo is just going into blue phase, dull skin and pink belly but the eyes are only just going dusty. Should i wait till they clear again so its just damp for a couple of days or put it in now?
Cautious about R.I's so dont want to over do it.

I keep a damp hide in with all my snakes all the time, so long as the rest of the viv is warm and dry there shouldn't be a problem in terms of RI, they need a little humidity to shed cleanly once they are about to begin a shed, once they start to shed it helps but not as much as if they get it earlier so put it in now, I use a plastic box with a hole in and put a clean damp dishcloth inside, you can also use moss but I prefer the damp dishcloth, I clean them regular and leave them damp in the hide so that the snake can have a cool damp safe area as well as the warm hide and I have never had any RI problems

I leave the snake cave in with my corn all the time, only chuck in some damp moss when he goes blue. Will do the same with the royal but he hasn't shed, infact he hasn't done anything yet.

My humidity is about 60 all the time then as soon as the eyes clear I place damp moss in the warm hide. They shed 24-48hrs after this and never had a problem touch wood. Never measured the humidity directly in the hide but overall humidity goes up to 70. Once they shed I do a clean out and remove moss.
