I've had a bit of a hunt round on here and can't find a all questions answered shedding guide, so I'll pitch my questions.

Firstly I'll say I think I may have spotted the first sign of an imminent shed, Duke has a few black ventral scales and they are looking a little bit grey. (I can spot a corn snakes signs a mile away, not too sure with Royals), this may explain his reluctance to feed and general never out of his hide-ness.

How long (ball park figures) does each stage take?

Is there anything I should specifically look out for?

I've the humidity at 50% (ish) and intend on raising to 60% once he goes 'blue' by chucking in some damp (wet and then squeezed out) moss, will this be enough to aid a good shed.

He has a small nik in his ventral scales (pre purchase injury) is there anything I can do to help this bit shed cleanly?

Thats all my questions, now the exciting waiting game starts (I think, I could be wrong).

Congrats if he is in shed.
If he is, it will take a out 2-4 days for him to go blue, and then roughly another 3-6 days for him to shed after that. Every snake is different so it could be quite a quick shed, or it could be a lengthy one.
The humidity level sounds fine with you adding moss when he goes blue. There is nothing in particular to look out for apart form the milky coloured eyes.
The small Nick in his scale should be fine, he should shed that with ease, but if he did have any problems then extra humidity that you plan to out in will sort it.
Hope this helped, and god luck with upcoming shed.q
