Well I posted earlier about my female Royal who wouldn't eat and I suspected after a few failed attempts that she had dragged the mouse under her hide to munch it. Well I just checked and she has indeed taken the mouse! It's odd how happy I am that she has eaten, but not only is it my first successful attempt at getting a non feeding snake to eat but its her first feed with me too! Smiles all round |

This weekend has been a good few days so far in getting non feeding snakes to eat, both my two have eaten this weekend, now yours and I have seen others have had sucess too. For anyone who has a non feeder, get some food in this weekend before the magic wears off. |

The way I got her to feed was by heating the mouse up. Get boiling water, then leave it to cool down for 10 minutes then put your mouse in for a little bit, keep feeling the mouse and when its just warm, give it to them. Like curry to a [insert explicit word here]head |

I just defrosted on top of the viv put it on a small metal dish, put it in the cold end about 6 inches away from the front of the hide Duke was in, turned the bulb down to 30 degrees (dont know if that bit was important) and left overnight, come the morning the rat was gone. It was only a rat pup I dropped down 2 sizes in the hope over the next month I can slowly increase size upto where he needs to be, got a few of each size on the way up and will feed every 5 days until I hit the proper size and then extend to every 7 days until he gets a bit bigger, then upto every 10 then every 14 if required, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. |

Well I haven't removed the for sale bit as such, but I am in no rush to sell her at all :) |

LOL and congrats all - my awkward little gits haven't started yet but I can't really complain as they've fed pretty well up to the new year. |
