So, Margwar is due a shed tonight, in theory, but my question is how hot should a bath be when you bath them? I was using a hand held kitchen thermometer, not allowing the water to get over 25 I think, I don't actually remember now :S
But he was sat pretty happily in the water, soaking himself away.

I would question why you need to bath him before he sheds. Raising humidity in the viv/rub using a moss box, bigger water bowl and the occasional misting of the sides from them going blue would hopefully be enough to coax a good shed. Bathing is a last resort in my opinion.

Yes, I personally wouldn't bath unless there was a stuck shed, but, hey, if that's been part of his routine for 10 years and he's thriving ...

There's a sticky on the health section about bathing and water temps, that's very good. I think she recommends water temp the same as the warm end of the viv, so 30/32. I was once recommended to have it just barely warm, as what seems warm to us can be too hot for a snake. Margwar sounds pretty happy with his routine.

Yeah, he's always had a bath before shedding, we can't seem to keep the humidity up too well in his viv, he needs a new one to be honest, but until money allows that we're having to find different ways.

I was a little worried because when I test the water with my hand it felt cold, so I got the thermometer out, and it wasn't, which is why I wanted to get a rough temperature idea.
