Over the past week Orlina has become a day time snake. Started off she just sat with her head out the hide but for the last few days shes been out and very active all through the day and sleeps at night. Took her out yesterday to make sure she was ok and she was fine and seems she was happy enough sitting around my neck and exploring but never trying to get away from me.
Her viv is set up as its supposed to, temps are spot on as well
Is this normal behaviour after the winter months or is she just full of energy after months of inactivity
Any thoughts? |

I honestly don't know, except that Spring's nearly here, some of the fish are getting very lively, and I have also seen a definite change of behaviour in two of my corns (only in their case this leads me to suspect that their probing was wrong, as it can easily be, and that they're not girls ...) I think the time of year does affect animals.
What Orlina's behaviour is making me wonder is - perhaps this new pattern may be her finally getting peckish and hunting for food? Do hope so! |

| My corn snake has switch to the day shift at the moment too, I'm guessing from a male snake perspective its easier to find the females when they are staying still so been out in the day is beneficial to horny snake boys. |

Hmmm i wonder if either shes been probed wrong or even not at all and the previous owners decided to say she was a she
I'll try see if theres anyone near me that can probe her
Thought i'd take her out before, normally about 30 mins before she seems like she wants back in...1 hour 20 mins shes just been out and she wouldnt go back in lol she was very relaxed
Her set up is fine and temps are spot on since i put in the fake rock background. Shes always got clean fresh water and viv is spot checked every day.
One thing i noticed which ive never seen her do before is it looks like shes trying to burrow
Shes maybe just coming round after the winter fast |

Ah, sorry, I didn't mean Orlina's behaviour was the same as my corns - didn't doubt her sex. I just meant that this time of the year seemed to have triggered off differing patterns of behaviour in a few animals.
I just wondered in Orlina's case if her extra-alert behaviour meant an end to the long fast and fussiness.
The corns' behaviour isn't the same as hers anyway. Those corns ...
It's very funny, but Spooky and Spider are now upstairs, away from the girls' room, and they've settled right back down ...

| Heres a turn up, shes lying in strike position. Never seen that at this time of day, unfortunately i tried her with the last 2 the other night. I'll get some at shop today and if shes the same tomorrow i'll try her. Fingers crossed AGAIN lol |

I got the gerbils but he ordered adults theyre about 5 inch long and are like the thickness of a large weaner, i know she could manage 1 but do you think they are too big for her first meal in 3 months?
I bought 2 mice just in case yous think the gerbils will be to big |

My royals too young for that kind of naughtiness, but my California king is off the food and constantly active. She(?)is also leaking drops out of her rear end.  |
