Hi,

I have a 10 month old male royal weighing 430g. he is currently in an 18l RUB. I have a 3ftx2ftx2ft viv that he will be moving into, my first question is how long should i wait until i move him into the viv?

my other question is i am currently feeding him 1 large rat weaner once a week, does this sound right?

Thanks

The answer is one only the snake will answer, is he an active always exploring little guy or is he very shy always hiding, if its always hiding the extra space may stress him out, if he is an explorer and about 4-5 feet long then give the bigger enclosure a go.

Feedingwise, sounds about right to me, Duke was on large weaners at that weight.

I reckon you may be ok to move in now if its nice and crowded, however, if he still has room in his current setup though, you may as well leave it be as all's well.

If size, and set up permits you could always put the rub inside the viv with the lid slightly open and then the snake can choose to explore or not in he or she's own time. I did that with both of mine, they both explored outside their rubs on the first night but I left the rub in there for a few days to help them feel safe. It soon became clear they had no intention of going back to their rubs so I removed them.
