I have just discovered the hard way never to turn your back on your Royal even for a second.
Thought i'd better give Dio an oil bath as he had a couple of mites on him still. After much trying to get him into the bowl, he decided to go incredibly straight at that point, i watched him for about 5 minutes. He didn't move that whole time. Thought he'd be fine just sat there on the kitchen side so turned around to take all the wood items out of his viv. That took less than a minute but by the time i turned around again the little bugger was already almost out of the bowl and half way under the microwave. He was just waiting for me to turn my back and he's left an oily trail along the kitchen side for me to clean up.
They can definately move fast when they want too. Trying to catch an oily snake is quite hard especially when they lodge themselves under something.
There is always time lol. The last time I turned my back/took my eye off a snake that was in my control (or not) he struck at my face so its very very true, 100% attention 100% of the time.
I'm making sure i'm not taking my eye off him now. He's being incredibily active the last 2 days so i thought i'd just put him on the floor and let him go where he wants in the flat.
