My last invoice from A&N:-

50 x mouse pinks @ 9p 4.50
50 x small mice @ 26p 13.00
25 x rat fluffs @ 40p 10.00
20 x XL rat weaners @ 66p 13.20
30 x small rats @ 71p 21.30
plus delivery (small box) 20.00
82.00

They are very good quality and keep well, but the furless mice will suffer from freezer burn after 6 months or so.

I think they're excellent quality and delivery info is reliable, and A&N seem to have a high turnover (a couple of times I've rung and have been told that if I wait a week I can have the first chance of whatever size has been out of stock - suits me fine, they breed and kill their own so they're going to be freshly frozen) - it works out for me with 11 snakes ranging from a tiny corn hatchling to a 5 year old royal - but the tiny tabletop freezer now holds my food - the household freezer is devoted to snake goodies!

Wow - you're lucky - I'm in West Yorks and have a local rep shop - but prices start at 50p for a mouse pink - dread to think what it'd cost me weekly if I got my rodents there - freezer/electricity costs pay for themselves. If I had the space and somewhere away from inquisitive cats, I'd breed my own and prekill, but even so that might be a full time job, compared with the convenience of having packets of rodents to hand in the freezer, I suppose ...

Aww!!

Yeah, been saying over on another thread how pretty some of my rats are, even frozen. Although I could co2 rodents to feed my snakes (have bred rabbits for food) it would make me feel very sad. Rats are gorgeous!

I have to admit the rat pup we fed Jacks snake last night looked really cute, all curled up like it was alseep! Poor little thing never even got a taste of life. However Odin attacked it like a good un lol. In answer to your question...I dont know because we wont have to buy any yet, the breeder gave us 5 rat pups when we picked him up.

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok, they know me in here.

I had two rats as a kid and they turned a bit feral on me :p

I also had a gerbil we called vampire as the first time I held him he bit me and made me bleed.

And I had a hamster who did the same.

It's safe to say me and rodents don't get along

If only MrsA! I have a lovely big rat cage in my garage but my bulldogs just wouldnt live with rats (I had my others before I got the bullys) even tho they're both soft as muck I dont think they'd cope with rats running round and I wouldnt want to keep the rats caged all the time, my others used to love a run round the house! Fantastic pets tho, specially with kids, far better than hamsters!!

MrsA82 if i didn't live so far away i'd be round yours in a shot to buy that rat off you. Not sure my current rat would like the company though.

One of the rats I bought has had it frozen testicles smashed in, brought a tear to my eye. Won't be pretty when defrosted.
