Dont know how many people have seen this sad news but just caught the end of it on central news. Only found out this place existed last week and was going to book on one of the tours. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-13965282 |

That's shocking to hear - I remember a brilliant photo of Welly with one of the king cobras at one of that sanctuary's open days.
Luke Yeomans was doing some brilliant work, and very dedicated to his snakes. Very sad to hear. |

saw this this morning on dark side, such a bad thing to happen, and may he rest in peace, killed by the thing he loved, better than being killed cold heartedly, but never the less, it always happens to the best, and never to the complete idiots out there |

Just had a phone dall about this. Sad times. He was a lovely and passionate bloke. I knew he was quite ill, he openly admited it when i was there whilst speaking to everyone. But was amazing to watch whilst showing his amazing collection. There are people at the sanctuary that will keep it running im sure.
Just hope his doesn't throw reptile keeping into a bad light.

I too hope it doesn't give reptile keeping a bad name, only the other day in the sun there was an article about a family that escaped with their lives out of an upstairs window when they found a 6ft long snake that crushes its prey to death in a bedroom, turned out that it was a corn snake. Brilliant conservation work that hopefully will be kept running but i suppose it depends on the authorities and at least as reptiledanny said he died doing something he loved. |
