woohoo nice one Bats, been looking forward to seeing some pics of Ziska, love the way she goes into stealth mode when on a rat hunt. She's a real looker too. |

Thanks guys!
In a couple of days I'll have her out for armchair walkies - she's a really big girl now - not surprising the way she eats. (She'll eat anything, she'll eat me ...) |

Thanks D3l - yeah, she's only about 8 months I think, but the pituophis (bulls, pines and gophers) make big hatchlings - she's 2' 6" approx (probably grown since I measured her) and GREEDY??? Typical colubrid!

What a stunning little snake (or not so little). Like a shark rising out of the aspen. |

Thanks guys.
Yeah, Bob and D3l, I call her 'little' too, and then I see her hind end in her cool end - only to realise that her face is staring at me from a spot in her hot end ...but in age she's only an adolescent, if that - it's weird. In those pics the rat looks too large for her, but not as far as she's concerned lol.
Like a shark out of the aspen - lmao - describes her perfectly! I was lucky to get those shots, because the minute her jaws had fastened on the rat she whipped back down into the deeps with it and was seen no more ... |
