so it looks like i might be getting a bearded dragon, it was taken to my other halfs vets after it was dumped outside the house of a person who helps out at secret world,a wildlife rescue centre, along with a corn snake.

it was in a bad way, under weight, not feeding and looked sorry for itself. but been told its eating now and the better half suggested we take it on as i have a spare viv. plus she was pestering me for one a while back so looks like i wont get a say in the matter lol.

now i have been reading up on husbandry for them and my main question is does the uv bulb need to run almost the length of the viv or can those conpact ones be used?

in all honesty i have never looked into keeping these b4, i have always been into snakes but if i can give a reptile a good home i will so any info or tips anyone could give me would be great

Yes it will need to be a strip light so the bearded will get it when he's out and about so to speak

We have a 18" 10% UVB connected to the starter
In a 3ft viv in the middle

Yes again we use play sand only for our adult ;) so much cheaper
Not good for little dragons
We have also brought a sand scoop the one with lots of little holes in to scoop up the poop
Although he loves to poop in the shower and hardly in the viv

Here's the link for the food
http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html

And he has calcium 5 days either on his crickets or sprinkled on the salad, and nutrobal is the other 2 day. I believe you can give it 3 days when they are adults but if he's a little malnourished he could probably do with it every day

Sound like he's going to a very good home! They are brilliant would recommend them to anyone. Our kids love Bruce too

picked her up this morning, she looks in a bad way. got that look as if she can't be bothered.

she has no interest in food, she was being tube fed a critical care diet at the vets and the only way to get her to eat is place the food in her mouth

she also looks like she has no muscle mass in her legs with lose skin

if people can't care for reptiles correctly then why bloody bother. lets see if the right conditions perk her up a bit
