I would go three foot and maybe section a bit off until he is bigger, save having to keep buying bigger or it will soon get expensive or should I say more expensive, its not the cheapest hobby to get up and running.

This is my 2 foot setup, my snake is as shy as they come but he is happy and doing well, the trick is dark, quiet and plenty of cover.

I'd say 1 thermometer is enough some get the reading for the cool as well

I'd check this site out

You won't beat there prices and I bet you now
The pet shop is going to want double for a thermostat than this shop
A mini microclimate 100 will do the job for you heat mat
But I don't like them as they tend to move the right temp to much
Much better one I'd go for but will cost you more is the habistat pulse thermostat
Keeps the temps within 1c maybe either way of the 32 you require

A 3 ft viv will house you royal for the rest of his life
Unless his called duke ;) (bob he's going to be a monster ;)

Here the site most people use ;)
http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/

;) happy shopping

And lovely royal ;)

This one ;)

http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/habistat-pulse-proportional-thermostat.html

Remember that the thermostat probe will need to be stuck to the heat mat so it will know when to pulse the heat mat to keep it at the right temp for you royal
Also the temp dial on the thermostats are out and you will need to measure the temp with a digital thermometer

Not trying to sell mine just want to give you the best advise you and your royal deserve ;)

Yes that will do fine

Or while your ordering from Surrey pets

This one they do other colours
http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/vivexotic-lx36-ellmau-beech.html
I don't have one but I think bats does and there ok and easy to put together

Also lots of plants as well so he/she felling secure wouldn't hurt
A couple of hides one in the hot end and one in the cool end

Oh use good question

Maybe for get the heat mat as royals are heavy body snakes it's not a good idea to use heat mats

Forget the pulse stat for your going for a viv

I'd go for these

Ceramic bulb holder and wire and plug

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CERAMIC-vivarium-heat-bulb-lamp-light-lamp-holder-kit-/320460369719?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Reptiles_Spiders_Insects&hash=item4a9ced2f37

the bulb

the bulb guard
http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/spot-lamp-guards.html

Most important the thermostat

Yes, you can't go wrong with the vivexotic flatpack - I've put 7 together up to date and my only criticism of them is the window tracking which may need a bit of fiddling with but there again that might just be me lol.

Here is my male, Shahi, who's 18 months, cf10 and 1200g, in his -

Your prince is a beauty, by the way. I too started out with petshop advice but was lucky to find this forum - it's given me a lot of help.
