This is Monty - not very original but that was the name chosen by my son!!

Even more embarrassing is that Monty is a Girl (we only found out the other day).

30cms long (that's 12 inches in real money) and weighs about 400 grammes.

Can anyone tell from the photos if she is anything special colour wise or would I be right in thinking she is a 'Normal'? I am considering trying to breed her next year.

she is lovely, nice long stripe on her tail to...

not sure about the breeding stuff as i have not ventured there yet, but i am sure others can advise..

very nice looking python. yes she is a normal. just make sure she is the right size before breeding

just to let you know she will need to be about 1500g and 3 years old to be ok for breeding.

She is a normal, gotta a great tail stripe. She wont be up to breeding weight by the end of next year at least though.

Nice reduced pattern normal. If she's only 400g, she's got a long way to go before breeding. Safe weights and ages are considered a minimum of 1500-1800g and 3 years old.

Thanks to all on the advice on weights etc - means I don't have to ask the question.

Now just have to find her a partner and get him up to the right size as well. If we won't be doing any breeding for a while it will give me time to find the right one.
