I bought a new exo terranium which gave her problems shedding even though I keep the humidity 50-60% and have moss in with her too so I started misting her every day and the next shed was good but then I noticed that 'black scale' so stopped misting but then she shed again badly :(
Do you think it is scale rot?
Benadine is on order in case it is.

Hi, sorry to hear, but in this case I would really get her straight to a specialist reptile vet - the fee is well worth it, even if only for your own peace of mind. All the very best, keep us posted.

The edges of the ventral scales are looking quite worn too, they are used for propulsion/grip and do suffer a bit of wear, do you have anything abrasive in the viv?

I think it might be the start of bacterial infection of the ventral scales due to excessive moisture on the substrate.

First thing to do is strip out the wet substrate and chuck it, its possibly got nasty bacteria build up, Put kitchen roll in for substrate for a while. You can increase humidity but only during shedding and this can/has to be done without wetting the floor. Secondly, Tamodine is the veterinary Iodine solution you need, its got no sting to it (if you've ever used Iodine you'll know its got tang) but I'd say just to kick it into check before it gets started antibiotics are the best bet so a vet trip is the way forward.

Most importantly a dry dry dry substrate.
