Hi all. I bought a hatchling in Sep. Since we've had him, he's been quite aggressive, and shed a couple of time, (1 after another) He hasn't ate since we've had him, and is loosing a lot of weight. He was bought as a good shedder and feeder. But he isn't.

I've tried everything.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to take him for a couple of weeks, and get him feeding again. I'm a little worried about that though incase a bad person takes him and doesn't give him back.

I'm in Llandudno North Wales.

Thanks for any help you could give!!!

Before you give him to someone else it may be worth trying live if you have a supplier close to you, the female I shouldv'e picked up in june at Donny is still with the breeder cause she takes one maybe two defrost then refuses till she gets live, so I've had to source a live supplier in order for me to have her, I would prefer not to feed live but I really want her lol so it would seem I've no choice but if you can't do it or no one comes along with better advise then I live in Stockport and would be willing to try although I have to point out both mine are feeders so not had that much experience

I'd be prepared to try and get him feeding - trouble is I'm in Wakefield and have no transport, and it's quite a way to take him, especially at this time of year.

I do have extra setups and gear and could probably set up what he's used to, away from my own snakes, and have assist-fed Shahi and Shiloh as hatchlings. (Shiloh was a fiddly little devil - pieces of mouse tail lol - she's now a little tiger!) Aggressive snakes are no problem in this household as Ziska rules lol.

But at this time of year he might be fasting anyway - although his weight loss is worrying, I agree.

However, I'm here if you get stuck - and I will give him back, I promise!

Thanks for your offers but it'll cost over £100 for us to travel as we have no transport either =/ I'm very greatful for the offer though.

I've moved him to an even smaller tub to see if he'll feel more secure. So, i'll give him a couple of days to settle again, and try again. Fingers crossed =D

Ah, that's a pity, would have liked to help - but maybe someone will turn up who's nearer to you. (Coincidence - I do have a brother in law who lives near Betws y Coed (Cwm Penmachno) who sometimes comes to Yorks but we've been out of touch for a bit.)

All the best with Bimisi - have you tried assist? I was terrified the first time but it went incredibly well, thanks to my Shahi -

Fingers crossed, hope he starts eating soon!

Hang in there matey! I empathise with you - my little leo took almost 5 weeks to settle in before he started showing any interest in food. I assist fed him the first time and then he started strike feeding on his own. Definitely stressful for you tho going through it, hope everything goes well :)

Sounds more like a stressy little snake than an ill snake, hang in there, go as small as you possibly can, just room for 1 hide and a waterbowl (when they are tiny the roof of their hide can double as a cool side while getting them feeding), kept in the dark for most of the day, allow a tiny bit of natural light to get in so they know what time of day it is, somewhere very quiet and give in a fortnight without attempting a feed, just water changes every 48 hours. Then after the fortnight wait, swap out the water in the waterbowl for a hot rat pup. Leave overnight and fingers crossed in the morning you can fill the bowl with water again with the rat nowhere to be seen.
