Going to try feeding Jake for the first time today. Should i feed him in his viv or in a RUB?
Also how long should i leave his food in for? I havn't got a seperate heat source for my RUB so i cant leave jake in there for lengthy periods of time.
Ive been reading various others feeding threads for tips and tricks but if theres any oher nuggets of advice you can offer i'd be really appreciative. The breeder did warn me that he may not feed for a while due to breeding season etc. |

i feed all of mine in a separate rub apart from one who will only feed in the viv. if you have recently got him you might want to feed in the viv first while hes settling in |

Is down to where the snake will eat. 2 of ours eat out of their homes and one will only eat in his home under cover of darkness with a ninja guard so we cant see.
I like the idea of feeding out of viv / rub as it lets me give them a quick lookover and clean their housing out while they are eating. But some snakes just wont feed away from their housing so really down to what the snake prefers in the end

Ok well ive just tried to feed him. I wiggled it about a bit with tongs first off, jake came over and started sticking his tongue out but didn't strike.
Ive left him to it now, he keeps cirlcling round it but nothing else yet. How long should i leave the rat in there for? |

All mine eat in the viv. The only one that i have to leave "overnight" is the MBK, he must be shy and dont like to have anyone watch him eat. |
