Thanks, Mamma, I can't wait myself; I'm googling all the pine snake pics and videos I can. It's possible he'll look a bit like this ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc6LBJz6ymk&feature=endscreen&NR=1
Only this is a rotten video - I want to smack that guy's hands away and tell him to stop teasing the snake!
(Mind you I inadvertently did the same thing this afternoon with Ziska when Scorpio delivered my new viv - I got Ziska out to show her and I pointed out how Ziska puffs out her throat like a boomslang or bullfrog. So Ziska tagged me. My fault ...) |

Thanks Chris and congrats in advance on your next Baird's - they're gorgeous snakes.
Those false water cobras are incredible, if I had the space and cash I'd have one, and they'll eat anything -

Don't know if you've seen this - it's a totally stupid video but the person who posted it is right - a fwc will take anything in the way of food - what a daft snake ... |

The mind boggles, lol ...mind you Surahi's previous owners had a royal who went absolutely berserk when they cooked chicken nuggets for tea.
Hey I hope she's a girl, and then your Jeff will be a happy chap! I should think there's a decent market for Baird's - they're not a run of the mill snake. Hope it all works out! |

They are - I do like rat snakes; I was tempted a while back by this little beauty, although it's not a Baird's -

But I was trying to be 'sensible' and telling myself, 'no more snakes' ...famous last words eh? Mind you, glad I waited because I got Shiva and now the new pit.

Oh wow yes! I did loads of research on drymarchons a good while back before I really got into pits - these are incredible snakes, though there seems to be a lot of conflicting info - some people say they need to be on deep earth so they can burrow; somebody else was keeping them on paper - agony for a burrowing snake I would have thought.
There's definitely at least one breeder in the UK - they are gorgeous snakes but I reckon you'd need a huge viv for one ...back to the money and space question ... |

Shadrach came home today - bitterly cold; I felt just like the polar bear in the joke, but Shadrach's polybox was warm as toast. I was still glad to get him straight into his warm viv though - pics in other reptile photos section. He comes up to my expectations and then some; really pleased with him! |

Aww sorry to hear - that's a bummer!
Have you thought of putting a 'wanted' ad in such as RFUK, Preloved and Gumtree?
Hope you find your ratty girl soon! |

Good luck - have you tried the corn snake forum as well - it's pretty lively and you might make contacts there. Fingers crossed! |
