as the title says. jeff has not eaten the last to weeks, he just does not seem interested. last night he just burrowed under the teatowel an pushed the rat out of the way. cant see any signs that hes going into shed and nothings changed. im not worried as its only 2 feeds was just wondering do colubrid's fast at all as i think their breeding seasons are similar times to royals? |

Ohhhh yes!
Although I didn't think it was as soon as this, but they can vary of course, as we all know.
Last spring I had 4 adult corn females in full throttle, not feeding, restless, randy ...I wanna man!!!
I would have bought them a male if only I could have administered corn-traceptives first lol. They were a pain, and I don't suppose it was a barrel of laughs for them either.
Recently my 2010 Miami, Cy, has stopped eating. Now, I call Cy 'her' but I don't know officially what sex s/he is.
Apparently pituophis can be the same ...ohhh no, not a randy Ziska, please!!!
I reckon your Jeff needs a missus Jeff lol! |

colubrids do fast yes, Im not convinced its due to breeding though as i have breeding males and females and none of them have ever gone off the food, im not complaining though. |

Oh wow - yes, they're not demanding as to husbandry - similar to corns although as you know they like more space and depth to burrow/roam/climb and depending on temperament they might be a bit ....welll ...feisty when first picked up (bit like arguing with a stroppy garden hose lol) but they are truly magnificent snakes - envy you, do hope you get one!!!
