Or Brazilian Salmon Pink Bird Eating Tarantula as she likes to be addressed. She is only a sling at the moment but will grow up to be about 10 inches in legspan.

I went through loads of different types of Tarantula but this little titchy thing won my heart. I look forward to watching her grow and grow and grow.

Its Sam for now until I decide whether she is a she (Sammy) or he is a he (Samson). Samson works well, not quite a Goliath lol.

Lol clever girl!

I don't know if you read about the story of the guy who bought a tarantula and then phoned the shop to say it had died ...

Yes. There was its enclosure ...and a desiccated tarantula ...lying still ...

So the shop said, well, return the corpse, mate, and they did.

It was a skin.

Trouble was, they hadn't bothered to close the enclosure and so a newly shed tarantula was at large in the house!!

I never realised spides shed until about 20 years ago I went into the cellar and a THING charged at me ...a BIG house spider, dragging his shed behind him ...

Interesting!

Have a good shed, little Sam!

Well she did just fine over night and I was greeted by this little squishy and a bit pale Tarantula, not sure where it came from though its about twice the size of the one I had yesterday.

Its incredible Kelf, at the moment she is very delicate and squishy it takes a few days for her to harden up, even her fangs are soft at the moment. I just cant comprehend how that spider there fit into the spider I had yesterday, a total mystery to me.

Ooo well done Sam!

Talking of delicate and squishy, THIS would make a really good cool exotic pet for your next addition, Bob!

They're incredible - seeing this makes me feel so guilty about only thinking of them in terms of calamares alla romana ...will stick to dried shrimp in the paella in future ...
