Been searching the net for a while to no avail but no found you guys ! Ok I've got my first royal cb11 normal 110g. Had him 9 days now he's fed 2 times both drop feeds and no messing. But I'm told he should only poo ever 4 to 6 weeks. My fellas pooped 2 days after each feed. Is this normal ? Am I doing anything wrong ? He's in a 2ft viv with hot and cold hide plus a rock come hide in the middle large water bowl plastic plants acrid the back wall. He seems healthy and active and no longer balls up when i handle him. I feed in tub then gently let him get in my hand to put back in viv then leave a good where he stays and misses a day of handling. I move something around in his viv every other day and he come straight out to see what I've done. Hope I've done everything right! |

when their young they will poo more often the 4-6 week is as they get older. your setup sounds good, but you should leave him 48hrs after a feed. do you have a thermostat with your heat source? welcome to the forum |

Yes I'm using a pulse stat with heatmat 7w I have probes in hot end hide Digi thermo says 29.9 but than does alter..... The max reading is 32.2 the min is 26.4 I'm not sure when and how there've got to those temps as when I've looked it's very close to 29.9 but other temps have been stored. I'll refrain from holding the boy for longer. Thought I had done really well lasting a good 24 hours aswell Also. Friends who have some what more experiance are telling me to up the prey size from what I presume would be small mouse to large mouse does this sound ok I like to trust there experiance but no harm asking some more experianced keepers Thanks again for comments and advice received. |

temps sound ok. the mat stats i use have the temps between 26c-31c yea its hard to leave them 2 days when youve just got them, you get used to it though. this is the feeding guide we use Blackecho's feeding guide - feed 10/15% of the snake's weight. 0-400g - feed every 5 days 400-800g feed every 7 days 800-1200g every 10 days 1200g+ every 14 days
its a good idea to get them eating rats early on as its easier to feed 1 rat than several mice when their older. they can get hooked on mice an be a pain to switch over
