Alexis shed last night and has not shed from her head. It it stuck tight and have tried to moisten it and gently rub it off but it's not budging. Also she didn't feed today, even after I had split the head on her rat. Could this be due to her discomfort or irritation of the skin still fully covering her head? Was thinking of leaving it until Tuesday to try feeding again and continue to moisten her head. Can anyone advise if I am doing the right thing or should I do an alternative?

Give her a bath in water no deeper than her and at roughly the temperature of the hot end of the viv ~32C for 20 mins or so and then let her run through a towel/flannel.

Not surprised she hasn't fed if she hasn't finished shedding, wait until a couple of days after the shed is sorted before you try again.

Had the same problem with Alexis; unable to shed her entire head again so have given her a bath as before, only she's just started sqeaking! Is this normal? Is this because I bathed her? She seemed to like the bath again so don't understand if she's upset. Advice would be welcomed, Thx.

What's her airways like? Sometimes the excess humidity can make them a bit mucusy, so the squeek could be from blocked nostrils etc?

The wheezing has stopped now thank goodness. It must have been from the bath and the loose skin over her head and face couldn't have helped. Being back in her Viv seems to have sorted the problem out plus some of the skin has come away following the bath.
