You're not kidding - typical pit - the three minute rat!

I'm surprised they don't get indigestion.

Then afterwards they come and scowl at you and say, what's for me main course then?

Brilliant vid and lovely snake!

LOL - bless her - I really think these guys would eat every day if we offered ...They really are dustbins!

Had Shadrach out a few times today, as he insisted, climbing into my top and disappearing - gave a whole new meaning to the term 'arm-pit' lol!

Pits rule us!

my 2 have been a little hit and miss with feeding, they will eat a few weeks then miss a week now an then. bt then it is the breeding season.

got a question for you. when you handle shadrach or ziska when the wrap round you hand etc can you hear what sounds like their scales catching on themselves?
as they have keeled scales it seems to me that when they rub against themselves the scales catch a little

Yes - you can. Sort of scratchy.

The latin 'pituophis' I believe derives from the keeled scale of the pine cone and literally means 'pine snake'.

Little gits have got to be different lol!

i did wonder what the noise was at first an thought it was their scales.

saw a viper on a nature doc that rubbed its scales together to make a warning sound. saw scale viper i think it was called

Yup - here is one - I love this guy!

amendment - along with his resident collection he cares for a lot of wild-caught and moves them on to zoos - his methods are unorthodox as he warns in opening credits - but he gets results - and clearly loves his snakes.

Yeah, he has that squeaky voice, bless him. Brilliant guy!

(LOL - when I feed my lot I do a 'viperkeeper impression' - 'there ya go ... there ya go ...' Well the snakes can't hear me ...fortunately!)
