There used to be a number of US owners that powerfed their female snakes to get them to breeding weight faster a few years back. It became a huge discussion topic and the consensus was that powerfed royals generally resulted in shorter lifespans.
Here's a picture of a UK snake that's overweight at 8kg.
And here's a US snake that's also overweight.
Notice the big gaps between the scales and the rounded look of both snakes.
Here's a picture of a US snake that looks overweight but actually is just bloated from having a burn that messed up his kidneys causing the snake to retain water. The telling feature is the normal head and neck area then wham... big squishy belly... now, if the problem was that he is constipated and not defecating properly, you would see the same type of bloating (makes him look overweight as well) but the area around his belly would be firm to the touch.
And lastly, here's a picture of the inside of an overweight powerfed snake that died young - after they performed an autopsy:
Notice the fat deposits squeezing it's heart and lungs that led to its death.
