I always let my two strike feed..I hold the mouse by the tip of the tail using tongs and dangle t in front of the snake..jiggling it a little so it looks alive.
That might be what he needs :) Good luck |

You could leave a mouse overnight, but I think i'd remove and try again after 5 days ) |

I'd leave it in over night on cool side of the viv. And then leave another week before u try again but if u only just got him I wouldn't worry too much cause they can take a few weeks to properly settle in. |

i dangled it down and wiggled it about and he came out but didnt do nothing. so i have left it on the cool side on some kitchen roll, all he seem to be doing is looking at it but not doing anything about it. shall i leave the food in there over night and see what happens, if he still hasnt eaten it shall i remove and wait untill next week? in the mean time am i still able to handle him? cheers Dale |

yeah as jb said, leave it at the cool end overnight :) Hmm I wouldn't handle until he has accepted at least one feed, he probably needs to settle in. |

You might want to try feeding at night or the evening at least, I love a good steak but if someone woke me up in the middle of the night and waggled a sirloin at me they'd get the closest thing to hand thrown at them. Nocturnal animals dont like been disturbed in the middle of the day its their sleepy time.
Its also probably a bit soon to be worrying that it didn't feed, Duke took 3 weeks to settle and start to feed and even to this day he has to be fed in his vivarium with the rat in a metal dish (not kidding) he wont eat it any other way. You'll learn over the next month or so what works and what doesn't when it comes to feeding but dont worry if it takes a few attempts they can fast for very long periods so a few weeks is just skipping breakfast for them. |
